The Niagara Bite

The northern smallmouth bite is heating up! With temperatures approaching spawn the big Smallies went on a tear last week for Captain Frank Cambell of Niagara Region Charter Service.
A variety of baits and depths worked with Coffee tubes and Rage swimbaits leading the way for artificials. When the bite turns tough a switch over to live bait has been the ticket. Golden shiners fished off three way swivels is the way to go on Lake Erie. The lower Niagara river is producing nice fish with jerkbaits in 5-15 feet on water
This year has been producing some of the biggest Smallmouth we have seen in the last 10 years. Good numbers of 5 to 6 lb fish with a few 7lbers showing up. There has also been a 8.26 lber caught in the few days.

If your looking for the smallmouth trip of a lifetime get intouch with Capt. Frank here.
