The 4th Annual no-entry-fee Toyota Bonus Bucks Owners Tournament will be held October 10 & 11, 2015 at the massive reservoir on the Texas-Louisiana border that Bassmaster just ranked the #1 Bass Lake in America – Toledo Bend.
Winning limits are nearly always over 20 pounds on Toledo Bend, but even more fascinating is the number of bass over 10 pounds that are weighed-in each year in the Toledo Bend Lake Association Lunker Bass Program. A total of 79 largemouth weighing over 10 pounds were recorded in the program this past year.
Speaking of big bass, Toledo Bend fishing guide and faithful Bonus Bucks supporter Darold Gleason has caught eight of them over 10-pounds, and says fishing on the massive 185,000 surface acre reservoir should offer something for everybody in early October. “They’ll be fish caught deep on football jigs, big worms and crankbaits, but also shallow from Toledo Bend’s abundant grass lines on topwater frogs, Zara Spooks, or even punching the matted vegetation,” predicts Gleason.
“Participation in our Bonus Bucks Owners event has increased each year. The support tournament anglers have shown Toyota continues to be deeply humbling, and we expect or time together at Toledo Bend to be another great celebration of their loyalty,” said Jim Baudino, Engagement Marketing Manager for Toyota.
All eligible registered Bonus Bucks participants are invited to participate and register a team for the Owners Tournament, with the exception of Bassmaster Elite Series and Walmart FLW Tour pros. Only one of the team members must be registered in the Bonus Bucks Program to be eligible to compete. Tournament officials from B.A.S.S. will be onsite to help orchestrate the tournament portion of the event.
The top 30 teams are guaranteed a paycheck. A free gift bag will be given to the first 200 anglers to sign up for the tournament, and all teams will have a chance to visit with Team Toyota and Bassmaster Elite Series pros who will be on hand to help with the event.
