Tackle Tuesday

Hey guys! I’m already thinking about heading north for the next few events and catching those big smallmouth. Here’s my favorite set up for finding and catching giant smallmouth. It’s the 7/16 Strike King Baby Burner Spinnerbait.

1. Application- I like to fish this over shallow grass and rocks. Reel it as fast as you can. The cranking rod I use for this comes in handy here as it allows me to make long casts and keeps me from taking the bait away from the fish.

2. Modifications- I add a 2/0 Strike King Stinger hook. I’ll also use about a 1 inch piece of chartreuse worm and slide it up the shank of the hook to add a little color and bulk.

3. Recommended Tackle- 20lb Seaguar Invizx. Shimano Chronarch 7:1. Keith Combs Signature Series KCCB70M.
